Q: HOW DO I WASH MY LUXURY ALPACA PRODUCTS

A: Hand or machine wash on delicate, in cold water with a non-abrasive, mild laundry soap. Air dry in the dryer or by laying the item on a flat surface. Groom with a light brush in the direction of the fiber.

Q: IS ALPACA ITCHY LIKE SHEEP’S WOOL? I AM GENERALLY ALLERGIC TO ALL WOOL PRODUCTS

A: Alpaca fleece does NOT contain lanolin therefore it is hypoallergenic. It does not itch and feels soft and warm against the skin. Sheep’s wool contains lanolin which is the cause of most allergic reactions to wool.

Q: WHY IS ALPACA WOOL ‘BETTER’ THAN SHEEP’S WOOL

A: An alpaca fiber is similar to the fiber in silk - a long hollow filament. Because of this the insulation properties are about 7 times warmer than the wool from a sheep. As mentioned above, alpaca does not have lanolin which not only makes it hypoallergenic but it also helps to keep the shape and will not shrink when washed.
