This is Alonzo, one of the Meraki Movement alpaca machos. Yeah, that’s what they call us adorable male alpacas… Machos!
Yesterday, I spent all day wandering my Ecuadorian pastures with a visiting herd of muchachos from Peru, when we started chatting about the things we appreciate in life.
Like all machos, the key to our hearts is through our stomachs, so we agreed that great food is one of the things we appreciate most. But hold the salsa please... these machos only like guacamole!
Then we started talking about the way people around the world celebrate their machos (the manly kind, not the crunchy kind… oh wait, you pronounce those ‘nachos’???).
Not just how they celebrate ANY machos, mind you, but their papás. You know, like… their dads?
We heard that people in Canada, the U.S., and other places celebrate Father’s Day on the third June of every year… and this year, that’s June 20.
You didn’t forget, did you?
The muchachos and I agreed that, while most papás would be thrilled to share a plate of nachos on Father’s Day, they would be even more impressed if their loved ones got them something truly special.
Like blankets, beanies, or ponchos made from our very own alpaca wool!
